The Beginner Juice Cleanse is an introduction to juice fasting that allows you to get through the cleanse more easily with a provided meal plan to complement the cleanse. It was designed specifically to be a no-fear, no-fail juice cleanse that teaches you how to combine food with juicing. Enjoy four juices per day in the order listed above every two hours until dinner. Repeat the same order for each day of the cleanse. The order is indicated on the bottles for easy organization in your fridge.
There are greens in every organic juice. No fruit. The sugar in fruit feeds yeast in the body causing lethargy and other symptoms often referred to as “detox effects”. It is actually stirring up the unhealthy system that is not used to a pure diet. Fruits should only be used when a person is an experienced cleanser with a healthy diet.
We have included recipes for preparing your cleanse dinner at home, however it is possible to enjoy a clean meal when dining out. We suggest a green salad with raw vegetables and lemon or lime juice as dressing. Avoid oils and vinegar. Oils impede digestion and vinegar increases internal acidity, hindering the cleansing process.
Those participating in a 5-day juice cleanse can enjoy a baked sweet potato or yam with a small pat of organic butter in addition to the salad. You may steam or sauté the vegetables for variety, but again, do not use oils or vinegar. We recommend stocking your fridge the day before the juice cleanse to have your dinner readily available.
Drink as much water as possible. No coffee or any caffeine. Herbal teas are a good supplement. Green tea should be decaffeinated. It is helpful to ween yourself off caffeine pre-cleanse and slowly reintroduce it into your diet post-cleanse. For optimal success, stick to a vegetarian diet and steer clear of red meat and cheese the week before and after the juice cleanse— they’re notorious for clogging the digestive tract.
Moderate exercise supports the detox process and can make cleansing more enjoyable. Unless you’re an experienced cleanser, strenuous exercise is not recommended. Stick to low-impact or no-impact activities such as walking, swimming, yoga or stretching. A light walk will gently encourage lymphatic circulation. Do not continue if you begin to feel dizzy.
